Emérita Augusta (Mérida, Extremadura) This city was founded in the year 25 BC as Augusta Emérita and is now known as Merida. At that time this was one of the main cities of Hispania and even the capital of the province of Lusitania. Merida is home to this day, perhaps Spain's finest Roman monuments like the Templo de Diana, Aqueduct de los Milagros, the Amphitheatre and of course the well-preserved Roman theater where to be given this day still shows today.
Alcántara Bridge (Cáceres, Extremadura) Experts are still not entirely agree but many see the Puente de Alcántara in the province of Cáceres as the most beautiful bridge in Spain.
